Help me make a difference
It's time to help those with breast and ovarian cancer
Welcome to My Support-A-Walk Page!
For nearly 30 years, Support Connection has been a lifeline for me and my family.
Cancer has touched my life across generations—from losing my mother, Lillian, to breast cancer in 1969, to my own ovarian cancer diagnosis in 1998, to the loss of my sister, Barbara, after her six-year fight with breast cancer in 2018.
When I was diagnosed in 1998, I stumbled across a newspaper ad for a young organization called Support Connection. Reaching out to them was one of the best decisions I ever made. The emotional guidance, clear information, and compassionate voices I found there gave me hope when I needed it most. Over the years, as I’ve navigated my own path and helped friends and loved ones through their diagnoses, Support Connection has remained the first place I call.
Because they gave so much to me, I’ve dedicated my time in retirement to giving back—volunteering as an awareness speaker, event photographer, and fundraiser.
Almost every year since 2008, Jeff and I have participated in the annual Support-A-Walk. Whether walking with thousands at FDR Park or taking to the trails on Cape Cod, we dedicate this day to honoring those we’ve lost, celebrating those who have beaten cancer, and standing shoulder-to-shoulder with those currently in the fight.
How You Can Help Support Connection provides all of its peer counseling, support groups, educational programs, and wellness resources entirely free of charge. To keep these critical services free, they rely almost entirely on community support and this walk.
