You can help me make an impact by supporting Kathy's Caring Circle. For years, you have walked by my side and have helped Support Connection make a difference in thousands of lives. Please read what you have helped Support Connection accomplish.
Nearly 30 years ago, I opened the door to our first office in Yorktown Heights, NY with the mission to offer support and give hope to women and their families dealing with breast or ovarian cancer. Along with the co-founders, Nancy and Rich, and other people who helped establish Support Connection, we knew the need was great. What made us unique and still holds true today is that all our counselors have had cancer. They know what it means to hear the words, "You have cancer." With compassion and caring, they give people as much time as they need to help them navigate their cancer journey. The counselors know it isn't easy but they also know that they can bring comfort, educated guidance and share valuable resources. We started with 2 support groups and grew to have a full array of programs and services, helping people nationwide. While I wish the need were not as great, we have helped over 20.000 people since I first opened that door. I remain as passionate today as I did the first day we started. People who turn to us know that they don't need to be alone with cancer. One person captured the essence of our work, "You were a lighthouse for me in this storm."
