As many of you know, ovarian cancer has had a major impact on my family and I over the past 20 years. We lost my beautiful grandmother to this awful disease, my courageous aunt battled with ovarian Cancer and beat it and I have been fighting an ongoing battle for the past 14 years. This year has been the toughest yet. After a recent surgery due to a recurrence of my Ovarian Cancer, I found out that I will need a very intense three cycle chemo treatment. I started chemo three days ago and it has already taken it's tole on my body. What I am feeling now is nothing compared to what will I will have to endure going forward in the coming several months. However, I am going through this with a grateful heart. Years ago, there was no chemotherapy that my specific type of ovarian cancer would react to. Advancements in science have given me hope that this could finally be the end of my battle and this caner will never come back. This is why we raise money year after year. We walk to give hope to so many woman who need it. We walk to find a cure to this silent killer.
We also can't go without saying that we raise money for Breast Cancer as well. This is also a cause very near and dear to our hearts. My cousins beautiful mother has been fighting a battle with breast cancer , that same cousin has a best friend who won her battle and one of my best friends for most of my life has won her battle. We are so grateful to have these beautiful, strong women in our lives. Others are not as lucky. We walk for them.
